Yoga
Java Mama is excited to offer a variety of yoga classes for both adults and children. Come join us for one of our excellent classes that will help center your mind while improving strength and flexibility.
Please bring your own yoga mat to all yoga and strength and fitness classes. Adult and children's mats are available for purchase or for rent for $1.00/visit.
Prenatal Yoga
Aching back? Swollen feet? Join other expecting moms in a fun and relaxing class that uses breathing, postures and meditation to help ease the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth. This class creates flexibility, focus, strength, and awareness through a gentle practice that is designed especially for the pregnant woman's needs. $13 drop-in; $55 for a 5 pack of classes. 3 months to use package.
Notes: Appropriate for both new and experienced yoga students. Second trimester and on.
Baby and Me Yoga (ages newborn to crawling)
A new baby in your life shouldn't mean the end to your yoga practice. Babies will love this class as much as their moms as the teacher leads you through a series of yoga poses to help strengthen your muscles and ease tension while playing and bonding with baby.
Notes: Parent participation required.
Family Yoga (ages 5 and up)
Enjoy yoga together as a family in this special Yoga class that combines traditional yoga poses with fun partner poses and games. Cost: $56 for one parent and one child for a four-week series. Additional family members are just $17 each per session. New session starting soon!
Pre-schoolers Yoga (ages 3.5 to 5 years)
Kids love games and stories, especially when they are combined with fun yoga poses, music and breathing exercises. This class, aimed at the pre-school set, encourages movement, self-expression and social skills. Children will gain a sense of physical confidence, improved body awareness, and increased attention span.
Cost: $40 for 4-week session; $12 drop-in.
Children's Yoga (6-10 years)
The exploration of yoga continues through poses, breathing exercises and cooperative games while incorporating visual imagery and relaxation techniques. Each class will encourage self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness. Cost: $40 for 4-week session. Music Classes
Java Mama is pleased to offer classes from two well recognized, national music programs -- Kindermusik and Toddler's Tango. We are also excited to announce a new music therapy class.
Kindermusik
Kindermusik International has more than 25 years of experience creating curricula based on new and proven research in child development. The award-winning books, CDs, games, and instruments nurture skills in the whole child: cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and language. .
Description; Imagine the aroma of baking cookies, the coziness of the family kitchen, the chatter among sisters, brothers, grandmas, granddads, mom and dad, and the anticipation and excitement of having friends come to visit. Captured in Milk and Cookies, these special moments at home are times to be shared and treasured. Milk & Cookies songs and activities promote interaction between parent and child where the parent gently guides their child's learning and the process of scaffolding takes place. Capturing the security, excitement and familiarity of "at home" moments is the ideal theme for empowering the parent to act as teacher. All activities of course are carefully arranged to maximize your child's growth and brain development in all 6 regions: physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, and music. This creative and educational adventure consists of 16 classes (1 parent + 15 parent/child.) Come experience the research proven "process" we call Kindermusik!

Toddler's Tango (newborn to 5 years)
Did you know that music and movement stimulate kids’ brain development? This fun program develops social and cognitive skills and concepts, gross motor skills and laughter. With movement, music and instruments we will use our imagination to explore the motions of our bodies with dance, learn songs from around the world and play with props and instruments. This is a great class for individual kids as well as siblings! Instructor: Kendra Brownsberger

Music Therapy and Drumming
Kyle Lueken, MT-BC (Music Therapist, Board Certified) uses a multi-faceted and interactive approach to Music Therapy for children. Whether drumming, singing, moving, or song writing, Kyle's goal-oriented approach to music uses fundamental music applications for developmental growth in your child. In today's world of TV and media-driven outlets, Music Therapy can provide a route for your child to explore, imagine, and create in a fun and positive environment. Research has shown that children who experience music are better readers, excel in math and most importantly grow up to be more confident and well rounded adults. Creation Station
Java Mama is proud to announce The Creation Station - a safe place to make a mess WITH your child! This is an open art space that is designed to help you create art with your child.. All art is open ended. In other words the child (and parent) will never have an example of what it's suppose to look like. Come release your inner child with your child! Examples of art projects would be bubble prints, chalk dust with glue, pendulum painting, 3D art, clay with popsicle sticks, stain glass collage with clear contact paper and different colors of cellophane, and so much more! For ages 2 and up. Cost: $36 for a 4-pack of classes; must use in 2 months. $11 per drop-in. First class is $7.
Spanish class for Toddlers 12-36 months
In this special Spanish class for toddlers, your child (12-36 months) will sing along with "Pepe" and "Juanita", count to 20, learn the days of the week, colors, shapes, animal names and move to music and rhythm. Instructor: Blanca Valenzuela Cost: $48 for 6-week series.
Spanish through Dance & Exercise for Kids ages 3-7
In this fun new class, kids will learn numbers, colors, shapes, animals, abc's and basic conversation through storytime, dance and exercise. Instructor: Blanca Valenzuela Cost: $59; $39 for siblings for 7-week series. Free trial on Tues., Oct. 14th at 4:30pm.
Baby Sign Language
Baby Sign Language teaches you how to sign with your baby from
as early as 6 months old.
Sign, Play and Learn
Learn how to communicate with your baby effectively through sign language by making it fun for everyone! Babies will be motivated to sign with some key tips and techniques that mom or dad learn in class. 90 minutes. Cost: $100 for 6-week series.
Ongoing workshops:
Sign4Baby offers a 90-minute workshop on the tips and techniques to effectively introduce sign language to your baby. Learn everything you need to know to discover what your baby is thinking. Form an early communication bond with your baby and learn 25-50 signs. Handouts are provided. Even if you have a newborn it is not too early to begin signing. Learn from an instructor who signed as a baby. Workshop cost is $40, second caregiver attending just $10.
Kindertots
Kindertots is designed to develop the total child through gross motor skills, movement, creativity, physical development and body awareness while learning numbers, colors, shapes and songs. Ages 3-5. Cost: $38 per month with a one time registration fee of $20. Taught by Kinderdance.
Kinderdance
Kinderdance is a developmental dance, motor development and fitness program taught on 3 levels, teaching the basics of Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics and Creative Movement. Ages 4-6. Cost: $45 per month with a one time $20 registration fee. Taught by Kinderdance.
Hip-Hop for Preschoolers
This class focuses on dance movements along with the ABC’s and numbers. Children learn how to
coordinate their bodies, learn rhythm patterns, and play different
games all while promoting their creativity and confidence
skills. Taught by Lil Arts. Ages 3-5. Cost: $40 per month.
